Registration FAQ
-
What information do I give if I register with iBerry?
A nickname, your country/city and any personal information you wish to provide is required for your profile. You are also asked to give some indication of your academic interests (by ticking boxes). Registered users can view all profiles and can contact each other through iBerry without revealing their private email addresses. If you don't want to be contacted you can easily switch off this facility.

I frequently use facilities such as the iBerry Opencourseware Finder and the News Aggregator - should I register?
Yes - then you can control the appearance of up to 9 blocks in the sidebars - e.g. you might want to select 'Educational Technology' for the latest ET News and/or the 'Google Scholar' block but don't need 'Translation' or want to see 'Quotes'. Just re-design your presentation to suit yourself - and save bandwith by NOT having unwanted content served!.
-
I would like to help iBerry in some way - should I register?
Yes definitely! You can help us in a variety of ways - e.g. checking links, entering OCW items, giving expert advice or even creating your own OCW.
-
I always fill in every registration box I see on any website but never return - should I register with iBerry?
There seems little point in doing this, particularly if you don't even pick up the email we send to complete the registration process! Most of our facilities are available without registration so if you are a casual user there is no need to register unless you want to have your profile available to other registered users.
-
How do you stop spammers from registering?
They try every day but we have procedures in place to block this sort of abuse. In any case iBerry is closely monitored by facilitators who ensure that suspicious registrations or comment spam is promptly deleted - usually before it's even published.
