Mainly for Young People

iBerry hopes that young people of all ages (9 to 99?), parents and teachers too, will find something of interest here. You don't have to be young to like good clear explanations and comment on Climate Change and the Environment. The links below vary in scope and assumed background level - keep looking until you find something you like. Feedback and suggestions please!
  • What Is Climate Change? - United Nations | Climate Action: "Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Such shifts can be natural, due to changes in the sun's activity or large volcanic eruptions. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas."

  • NASA - Earth - An impressive site for youngsters that adults will appreciate too. Big Questions: What Is the Greenhouse Effect? What is the Carbon Cycle? What Is Climate Change? How Are Earth's Ocean and Climate Connected?

  • Extinction Rebellion (XR) - THIS IS AN EMERGENCY: XR is a decentralised, international and politically non-partisan movement using non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to persuade governments to act justly on the Climate and Ecological Emergency.

Young Activists

Sadly, what this young activist at a UN conference had to say in 1992, is more than true today!

Happily, there are many young activists dealing with the climate crisis right now. Here's Kenya's youngest environmental ambassador, Karen Kimani when she was 10!

The energy, interest and enthusiasm of young people who are actually doing something about climate change and the environment puts many older people to shame, particularly governments with real power who continue to delay significant action. "Business as Usual" is not an option.
